How To Register a Free Domain in Nepal

Do you want to build your own website, but don’t know where to start off from? Well, let me help you out. The first thing you’ll need in order to deploy your website on the internet is a domain name. There are a lot of options to choose from while registering a domain name. It can be .com, .org, .biz, and many more. In this post, I’ll teach you how you can register a ccTLD (country code Top Level Domain) for free in Nepal. This includes domain names like .com.np, .org.np, .net.np etc.
First of all, you’ll need to make sure that the domain name you want is not already registered by someone else. For that, go to register.com.np and enter a domain name, select the desired extension from the drop-down menu, and click on ‘Search’.

If you get the following message, it means that the domain is available and is free to register.

Here, click on ‘Register Now’. After that, you’re redirected to a screen where you’ll be asked to fill up the request form. If you do not have name server yet, fill it up with something like ‘ns.webhost.com’ for now. Don’t worry cause you’ll be able to change the name server later, once you set your web host up.

Once you fill everything up and submit it, you’ll be asked to upload verification document. It can be a cover page, citizenship document, or company registration document. Note that if you’re registering a domain under your name (like yourname.com.np), you’ll have to upload your own citizenship document.

After you’ve submitted the required documents, you can see the domain name in your Dashboard.

It will take 1-2 working days for your domain to be approved, after which you can upload your content onto your site.
